How do I use the emergency 9V DC battery power?
If the AA batteries are dead, use a 9VDC battery to provide temporary power. Press and hold the 9VDC battery terminals against the contacts on the bottom panel of the exterior escutcheon to power the lock. It does not matter which side the positive or negative terminal is on. Wait for the lock to power up, a beep and LED flash will indicate it's powered (it may take up to 15 seconds). Continue to hold the battery against the contacts and present your credential to unlock the door. Be sure to keep the 9VDC battery in place while you unlock and lock the door.
Important: Change the AA batteries as soon as possible.
