Key Override Option (CEx100)
Install the cylinder into the lever
You will need the blue installation tool.
Can't find it, no worries, a flathead screwdriver will work just as well.
If you need to install the cylinder into the lever, first make sure the cylinder tailpiece is aligned in the same direction as the cylinder bible. Then, slide the cylinder all the way into the lever. Press the cylinder retainer into the lever to restrain the cylinder.
When you insert the key, be sure to not press too hard so no parts fall out.
When installing the lever on the shank, the starting position of the cam and alignment of the tailpiece are key to an easy install.
Please see the below images showing starting orientation of the cam and tailpiece. Use the blue installation tool to orient the cam as pictured below.
Green -correct cam and cylinder tailpiece orientation.
Red- incorrect cam and cylinder tailpiece orientation.
Yellow rotation arrow- direction lever is turned to unlock the door.
-Handed to the left
Install the lever on the shank with tailpiece oriented to match the area shaded in green and turn the Key clockwise.
-Handed to the right
Install the lever on the shank with tailpiece oriented to match the area shaded in green and turn the Key counter clockwise.
That's it, you're done!
