What is “161 Prep with through holes”?
“161 Prep with through holes” is a cylindrical lock preparation. The center of the bore (backset) will be 2-3/4″ from the edge of the door and the bore itself will be 2-1/8″ in diameter. The edge of the door will have a 1-1/8″ x 2-1/4″ edge prep to account for the latch of the lockset. There is a 5/16” hole at the 12 and 6 o’ clock position of the bore.
